These mouse breast tumor cells (shown in these pseudo-colored scanning electron micrograph, are used to create immunocompetent models of breast cancer with high rates of metastasis or spread. This is a laboratory models used to test new immune therapies against the disease and to study the role of the immune system in tumor progression.
